Open to members and visitors alike

The Ashcombe Open has run every summer since 1923, war years excepted. Matches are played on our six grass courts in the evenings and at weekends, with a referee on site for every session. Entry fees are collected by the tournament secretary once the draw is made, so you can enter now and settle up later.

Format
Knockout with a plate event for first-round losers. Best of three tie-break sets; a match tie-break replaces the third set before the quarter-finals.
Balls
New balls for every match, supplied by the club.
Dress
Predominantly white on finals day. Grass court shoes only.
Weather
Rain days roll matches forward. The referee will text you if your match moves.

The Ashcombe Cup

First played for in 1923 and still presented on the lawn by the club president. The plate winners take home a bottle from Wells and a place in the club history book.

One entry per player. Add your partner's name for doubles and they need not enter separately.

Your entry goes to the tournament secretary at Ashcombe Lawn Tennis Club and is used only to run the Open. Questions: open@ashcombeltc.org.uk
