The Email Component

Use an Email field when the answer has to be an email address. FormFinch checks the format. Respondents can also confirm the address with a code, so you know they can receive mail there.

Respondents confirm the address before the form can be sent.

Add an Email

Email is under Input Fields. Click it or drag it onto the page.

Ask respondents to confirm the address

Turn on Mark as required first, then Verify the address with a code. The switch needs a paid plan and can’t be turned on until the field is required. Turning Mark as required off later turns confirmation off too.

Respondents can go to the next page or send the form only after the address is confirmed. The preview skips this step: no code is sent, and any address is accepted.

What respondents see

Respondents type a valid address and click Send code.

Changing the address, or reloading the form, means confirming again.

If a code doesn’t turn up, they can ask for another with Send a new code after a short wait.
